Ladies of Harley

Ladies of Harley (LOH) was established to encourage women to become more active members of the National Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) and their local chapters both as riders and passengers.

Women have been riding as early as the 1910’s.  In 1915, a mother and daughter by the names of Avis and Effie Hotchkiss made history by crossing America – twice – on a three-speed V-Twin with a sidecar.  The Motor Maids is the first world’s women’s motorcycle club founded in the 1930’s.  There have been many women that trail blazed in history, Dorothy “Dot” Robinson (First Lady of Motorcycling), Bessie Stringfield (African American rider), and more recently Jesse Combs (First Female Grand Marshal 77th Sturgis Rally & motorcycle builder).   In 2001, more than 10% of all new bike owners were women and in 2014, female ownership had increased to 14%.

Here at the Rattlesnake Mountain Harley Owners Group, we are not short of women riders and are seeing an increase in women HOG members, both who ride their own and who ride as a passenger.  The goal of this chapter is to encourage and support lady riders.

The Rattlesnake Mountain LOH meets the first Monday of each month to discuss rides, upcoming events, volunteering for dealership events, and plan the yearly Christmas party.  The LOH is not women’s only, all members of the HOG Chapter are able to participate in LOH activities.

To become a LOH member you must be a National Member of HOG and all you need to do is check the Ladies of Harley box on your profile!  No extra cost and all the benefits of LOH!

If you would like more information on the Rattlesnake Mountain HOG Ladies of Harley, our Ladies of Harley Officer is Jennel Dompier and she would be happy to answer any questions you have.  Jennel can be contacted via email at [email protected] or on her cell phone at 509.303.8016.

Please feel free to join us at either our monthly Chapter meeting or the monthly LOH meeting.
